Youtube link This rail cost about $30 to make (the wood and PVC was $25, and we just used screws we already had, so I’m just adding 5 bucks on to that). It took about 45 minutes from start to finish, but as you can see in the video, we had a sick setup (my dad’s warehouse). What you need to build the rail: (1) 12′ 2×4 (1) 8′ 2×4 (2) 10′ 2x4s (4) 10′ PVC pipes. I think we used 3/4″ diameter. When lined up next to each other you they should be about 4.5 inches wide A strip of plywood about 4.5″ wide, 10′ long Screws Step 1: Cut the 12′ 2×4 into six 2′ long pieces. Screw these together so you have 3 “T” shaped legs. Step 2: Cut the 8′ 2×4 into six 16″ long pieces. Then you will need to make 45 degree cuts on both ends of the 16″ pieces. These will be used for braces on the legs. Screw 2 braces to each “T” shaped leg. Step 3: Stand all three legs up, even spaced so they span 10 feet. Screw the 10′ 2x4s to the legs (one 2×4 on the left side of the legs, and one on the right). Clamps will come in handy here. Step 4: Screw the strip of plywood to the top of the 10′ 2x4s. This plywood is what you will be screwing the PVC pipes into. Step 5: Drill out holes in the top of the PVC pipes. The holes need to be just big enough so that a whole screw can go through them. DO NOT DRILL ALL THE WAY THROUGH! Once you have the top holes drilled, switch to a smaller drill bit. You will need to drill through the bottom of the PVC pipe so it doesn’t crack when you screw it to the plywood. Step 6: Screw the PVC pipes to the strip of plywood. When they are all screwed in, you might want to quickly sand the holes in the PVC pipe, just so you don’t catch an edge on them. You also might want to sand/round off the pipes where you will be riding onto the rail. I didn’t do this and one time I accidentally hit the end of the pipes and it gouged my snowboard all the way to the core. Find a hill and go shred!

I made this video to hopefully get Quiksilver’s attention so I can get my suit fixed. If anyone at Quiksilver is reading this, please contact me! I bought my Quiksilver Cypher 4/3 wetsuit in October 2011 when I was in Portugal. I don’t know what I did with the receipt unfortunately Overall the suit is great, and I love everything about it except for the neck. Just a few months after owning it, the neck starting getting all sticky, like the rubber stuff just was melting. Not sure if it was something in my sunscreen or what, I asked at some surf shops and searched the web, and apparently it hasn’t happened to anyone else. I put up with it for the winter, and bought an O’Neill suit for the summer. No problems with the O’Neill neck. Well I got out the Cypher again the other day, since it’s starting to cool down. I just can’t put up with the sticky neck for this winter, it feels gross, rips my hair out when I pull it over, and leaves a sticky black ring around my neck after surfing. So PLEASE Quicksilver, I don’t want a new wetsuit, I just want the neck to get fixed. I live in San Diego, if you need me to drop the suit off at one of your shops.

Empty some of the vodka into a cup (you don’t want the bottle to overflow when you are adding your skittles). Separate your skittles by color. Put about 50 skittles into the bottle of vodka. Pour the vodka from the cup back into the bottle. Shake it up and let the skittles completely dissolve, takes about 12 hours. Now you need to strain the vodka. There will be lots of sugar/foam stuff if you don’t strain it. Some coffee filters take too long to strain it, so I ended up just using paper towels as filters. After it is strained, pour it into whatever container you are going to use. Drink up!
